John Kinney

Chief Executive Officer
John has extensive leadership experience from serving as CEO for three Inc. 500 companies. These include Club One, a fitness club company he grew to over 100 locations and over 1,000 employees, and Greenline Industries, a biodiesel company. Most recently John was the Managing Director for Clean Energy at Imperial Capital, and also has experience with Bain and Company and Bessemer Venture Partners. John received a B.A. in Human Biology, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering, and MBA degrees from Stanford University.

Greg Saunders

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Greg is a 25-year veteran of the commercial finance industry. He served as CFO of two publicly traded companies and four private firms in the structured finance, real estate and cleantech industries, the majority of which resulted in significant liquidity events for investors. Prior to joining Clean Fund, Greg served as CFO at Project Frog, Inc., a manufacturer of high performance green buildings for the education and healthcare industries. Previously, Greg was CFO of Tioga Energy, a nationwide commercial solar energy finance and development company. He was also CFO at Codding Enterprises, a cleantech and commercial real estate owner/investor that was also Clean Fund’s first customer. Greg was previously CFO of Bridger Commercial Funding for 11 years, building the company into the leading independent, nationwide CMBS conduit, securitizing over $5 billion of commercial mortgages. Prior to Bridger, he was CFO of two publicly traded companies, achieving public company mergers for each (National Information Group and Transcisco Industries). Greg holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Craig Hill

Managing Partner, Program Development and Government Relations
Craig is one of the foremost authorities on PACE finance and has several decades' experience in municipal finance. In his role as financial advisor to the city of Berkeley, he was part of the team that originated the financial structure for PACE in 2008. He is an advisor to the U.S. Department of Energy on enabling PACE programs nationwide. Craig is a founder of Northcross, Hill & Ach, Inc., a financial advisory firm to California municipalities. He received B.S. degrees in Managerial Economics and Agricultural Economics from the University of California at Davis.

Vincent Titolo

Executive DIrector
Vincent has over forty years of domestic and international executive experience in both the corporate and investment sectors. Vincent has managed a VC fund, EuroUS Ventures, he was the CEO of leverage buyout equity fund and Investment Banking firm, Menke Titolo Capital Corp., and he was the Senior VP and CFO of three NYSE companies – Ampex Corp., Tymshare Inc., & Shaklee Corp. Vincent has a BS Degree from Fordham University, New York.

Joe Euphrat

Managing Director
Joe has been in the investment banking and real estate business for over 20 years. While at E.F. Hutton and Lehman Brothers, he structured over $8 billion in financings for healthcare clients in the US. Most recently, Joe was Managing Director of Capital Markets for Jones Lang LaSalle and founder of Duke Healthcare Capital. He has advised on the structuring and sale of bonds, capital strategy and on overall real estate strategy for clients. Joe has been a guest lecturer at Stanford Business School and the USC School of Public & Health Policy and is an Honors Graduate of the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

James Hamill

Executive Director
James has extensive experience working in the public finance sector including the evolution of PACE programs. This includes leading teams for two of the largest economic development bond issuers in the country, the Public Finance Authority and the California Statewide Communities Development Authority. In addition, James served as General Counsel to U.S. Communities, a nationwide government cooperative purchasing program. James received a BA in Political Science from UC Riverside, and JD from Whittier Law School.

Chris Robbins

Managing Director
Chris is responsible for sourcing and financing deep energy retrofit and water conservation projects in commercial office, hospitality, multifamily and private healthcare buildings throughout the United States. His experience spans 24 years in the commercial real estate, internet infrastructure and renewable energy sectors leading sales and business development efforts, raising and deploying capital and general operations. Most recently he was a Vice President at SCIenergy focused on building out the sales and business development organization for their MESA capital platform. Prior to that spent five years as a principal of Appian Capital, a private commercial real estate investment company where he lead the firm’s capital strategy and business development efforts, deploying over $200MM during his tenure. Mr. Robbins holds a B.A. degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. He is an active member of various industry associations and groups, including serving seven years on the Board of Directors of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP) San Francisco Bay Area Chapter in addition to serving on the Energy and Environment Committee, BOMA San Francisco.

Will McCalpin

Will McCalpinInvestment Associate
Will McCalpin joins Clean Fund as Investment Associate assisting with deal origination, business development, transaction management, and operational due diligence. Will spent a year with the Commercial & Industrial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program at the CT Green Bank where he was involved with the first securitization of commercial PACE projects totaling $30M. Prior to C-PACE, Will supported project development efforts at OwnEnergy, a community-scale wind energy developer based in Brooklyn, NY.

Will was also a Summer Analyst at Hudson Clean Energy Partners, a cleantech-focused private equity firm with AUM of ~$1B based in Teaneck, NJ, as well as a Research Associate at Esty Environmental Partners, a boutique environmental strategy consulting firm based in Waltham, MA.

Will holds a BA in Political Philosophy and Environmental Studies from Princeton University.

Edwin F. Feo

Edwin FeoDirector
Edwin F. Feo is a pioneer in renewable energy development and finance. He was a co-founder and Managing Director of USRG Renewable Finance, a company that arranged the senior debt financing for 375 MW of rooftop PV projects in multi-year development programs. Ed is also a Managing Director of Coronal Management, an alternative energy company that develops, finances, builds, operates and maintains PV projects for corporations and non-profit organizations. Mr. Feo was named one of the "Five Most Influential People in Renewable Energy" by Euromoney/Institutional Investor. Previously Ed was the co-chair of the Global Project Finance practice at the international law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, where he closed over $35 billion in clean energy transactions. He holds a BA and JD from UCLA.

James Lavelle

Jim serves as Chairman and CEO of Light Beam Energy, Inc. an independent power producer of renewable energy in the US. Light Beam’s focus markets include distributed generation of solar and wind power and large-scale energy efficiency programs for municipalities and special utility districts in California. Jim was the founder, Chairman and CEO of Cotellignet Group, Inc. an information technology services and digital media company. He has also served as advisor to the Chancellor of the university of California Irvine and member of the advisory board of the School of Business at Santa Clara University. Jim holds a B.A. from the University of California Santa Barbara and an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.

Laird Cagan

Laird Cagan has a distinguished 30-year history of creative finance. He has been investing in high growth companies for over 20 years and specifically in renewable energy and alternative energy for 10 years. He is the Founder/Managing Director of Cagan McAfee Capital Partners and Executive Chairman of Blue Earth, a company focused on energy efficiency retrofits as well as renewable energy development and construction/installation. He began his career at Goldman, Sachs and then Drexel Burnham Lambert in the M&A departments where he closed $15 billion in transactions. He holds BS and MS degrees in Engineering as well as an MBA, all from Stanford University.
